Shopify handles the technical basics well and then leaves four things to you: collection pages that carry the commercial terms, duplicate product paths, filters that flood your crawl budget, and structured data that changes with your theme.
We work through those in the order that pays, starting from what your store actually earns rather than what a tool flags first.
That discipline is how one retail partner added over £1.4m in tracked revenue in a single year, and it is the same foundation that decides whether AI assistants recommend your store when shoppers ask what to buy.
What Shopify SEO Actually Involves
Our Shopify SEO Services: How We Grow a Store's Organic Revenue
Shopify rewards stores that fix things in the right order. We start with where the crawl budget is going, then build on what is left.

A Senior Ecommerce SEO Specialist on Every Account
When you work with Clear Click you work directly with a senior ecommerce SEO expert, not an account manager relaying notes to a delivery team. The consultant who audits your store is the same person who builds your category architecture, reviews your product data and sits in your reporting calls. That is deliberate. Ecommerce SEO decisions are commercial decisions, and they should be made by someone senior enough to weigh up revenue, margin and merchandising, not just rankings.
Shopify SEO, Answered Honestly
What does a Shopify SEO agency actually do?
The valuable part is judgement rather than configuration: working out where your crawl budget is going, which collections are missing against real demand, and which fixes are worth doing first. Our Shopify SEO guide walks through that work in the order we do it.
Is Shopify good for SEO?
Yes, with caveats. It handles hosting, canonical tags and sitemaps well, and it constrains you in ways that occasionally matter: a fixed URL structure, a sitemap you cannot edit directly, and duplicate paths resolved by canonical rather than prevented. For most stores, none of those constraints is what is holding rankings back.
Do you work with Shopify Plus stores?
Yes. The work is the same in kind and different in scale. Plus stores tend to carry larger catalogues, several markets and more apps, with more people able to change things, so governance becomes as much of the job as optimisation.
How much does Shopify SEO cost?
You will see plenty of agencies sell fixed Shopify SEO packages. We deliberately do not, because the right scope depends on catalogue size and on how much needs correcting before anything can be built on it. We share exact pricing after a short review of your store, and we will say so if SEO is not the best next investment for the stage you are at.
Does Shopify handle international SEO on its own?
Partly. Shopify Markets generates hreflang tags and self-referencing canonicals, but only for markets that have their own domain, subdomain or subfolder. A market set up purely to change currency gets none of it, which is why so many stores are invisible in countries they already sell to. Our guide to Shopify Markets and international SEO covers the setup in full.
